Derby County striker Mile Sterjovski is again being linked with a move back to Australia. After enduring a tough season at Pride Park where he has struggled for regular first team football, the Socceroo could be convinced to play in the A-League.
Gold Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg said that they were still pursuing Sterjovski.
"He doesn't want to go to Perth because it's far away from his (NSW-based) family," Bleiberg said.
"He told me if he played for Perth, he might as well play in Europe. He wants a team on the eastern seaboard.
"We're getting close," he added.
"It's a complicated issue, but I'm interested to sign him and he's interested to come here."
