Derby ponder selling Leeds, Newcastle target Knight

Derby County are considering the sale of Jason Knight.

While the administrators remain hopeful of being able to sell the club, the Rams are starting to feel the effects of the financial problems despite moving off the bottom of the Championship table.

The Times says they have sold Graeme Shinnie to Wigan for a nominal fee and Phil Jagielka's contract has been cancelled in an attempt to balance the books.

Over the next couple of weeks, they might be forced into the sale of highly-rated Knight and there will be plenty of clubs interested if that is the case.

Leeds are said to be among a number of other teams monitoring the 20-year-old's situation with Burnley and Newcastle the other clubs sniffing around.
