Derby interim manager Rooney admits Ibe axe came due to 'disciplinary investigation'

Derby County interim manager Wayne Rooney admits he dropped Jordon Ibe for discipline problems.

Former Liverpool and Bournemouth winger Ibe was an unused substitute for the Rams' game against Preston North End on Boxing Day but the 25-year-old winger was not in the matchday 20 for the 4-0 victory over Birmingham City at St Andrew's on Tuesday.

When asked about Ibe, Rooney replied: "There is an internal disciplinary investigation going on with Jordon, so I cannot speak any more on that until the investigation is over, sorry."

The Derby Telegraph says there is no further information on what the disciplinary matter is about although Rooney confirmed the player is not injured.
