Derby hero Matej Vydra: My instant goal set up win

Matej Vydra felt his instant opener set up Derby County for their crucial victory over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Vydra struck for Derby after just 24 seconds to set Gary Rowett's men on the way to their first win in six in all competitions.

The Czech Republic whiz received the ball 20 yards out and was allowed time and space to pick out the bottom corner.

That goal set the platform for a much-needed three points for the home side, with Vydra's through ball also releasing David Nugent to add a second after the break.

Despite their stumbling form, many regard Derby as among the favourites for promotion from the Championship. But if fans aren't keen on gambing on games, they can always check out online casino gambling for a flutter.

"To get the goal after 30 seconds was the best start for Derby and for our fans," said Vydra.

“Then we wanted to go on and get a clean sheet which we did – so I think it was a very good result for us.

“When you walk out and you see everyone has flags and everyone supporting Derby, it was a good feeling and special after 30 seconds for us to go 1-0 up."

Vydra's goal was the quickest Rams effort of the season.

“I saw one player who was close to me," said Vydra. “I tried to take the ball and turn and I saw Tom Lawrence wanted to cut one defender behind.

“I tried the shot and it went in and everyone was happy."
