Derby County boss Steve McClaren is determined to prise George Thorne away from West Bromwich Albion.
The Daily Mail says the 21-year-old midfielder enjoyed a highly successful loan spell from West Bromwich Albion in the second half of last season but the Premier League club have rejected a bid believed to be worth £950,000.
A striker to support Chris Martin, who scored 25 goals last season, is also wanted.
