Derby County boss Frank Lampard is delighted to have kicked off his management career with victory at Reading last night.
Derby were fortunate to escape with three points on the Championship's opening night, with Tom Lawrence's winner coming after Chelsea loanee Mason Mount cancelled out Jon Dadi Bodvarsson's opener.
"That is right up there with what I have done in my career," said Lampard. "I do not want to get carried away because it certainly won't be like that every week, but in terms of that moment it was fantastic.
"That's what I am back in the game for. Those feelings are incredible and you can see from the celebrations at the end how much that means to us all.
"You live it. You are in it. You see things from the side that you want to affect but you can't always affect them. I knew this was not going to be easy and plain-sailing.
"I did enjoy it at the end. That's what it is. It's my new job. Those 90 minutes are what you work all week for."
