Derby boss Davies laughs off sack reports

Derby County boss Billy Davies has shrugged off reports he has two games to save his job.

"Welcome to professional football 2007," he told the Derby Telegraph. "Reports and headlines can be cruel and disrespectful, for an example look no further than England manager Steve McClaren.

"Look at the stick he has taken, and this is a guy who is a wonderful coach and doing a good job.

"Tonight he has a great opportunity to put England into the Euro 2008 finals and yet he is still under fire."

When asked about the reports, Davies smiled: "Two games to save my job? I think it's one game, and it seems to have been one since the start of the season.

"I will continue to work as hard as I can with the squad we have.

"I have said before, I will not spend time looking over my shoulder."
