Derby boss Cocu reveals failed move for Liverpool whizkid Wilson

Derby manager Phillip Cocu has admitted that he tried to sign Harry Wilson on loan this season from Liverpool.

The winger eventually went to Bournemouth in the Premier League, where he has shown his creativity and goal scoring prowess.

But the Championship club's Dutch boss did try and get Wilson back to the club before that deal went through.

The 22-year-old is currently sidelined with a leg injury, but has six goals in 14 goals this term.

Speaking to Derbyshire Live, Cocu said the following about Wilson: "We waited, and we had contact a long time with Liverpool but in the end it was a great transfer for him (Wilson) to play Premier League (with Bournemouth).

"It is a great move."
