Heracles Almelo winger Edwin Gyasi is on the radar of Southampton.
The Daily Mail says Southampton are keen to beat Derby County to the signing of Gyasi.
Ronald Koeman knows Gyasi from his time in charge of AZ and Feyenoord, and the Southampton manager recently sent scouts to Holland to watch the 23-year-old.
But Gyasi played under Steve McClaren at FC Twente in 2012, and the Derby boss wants to recruit the forward in their push for promotion to the Barclays Premier League.
McClaren handed the 6ft 1in player 13 appearances in the Eredivisie, before Gyasi moved to Heracles for a reported £660,000 last August.
