Reading face competition for on-loan Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray.
The Croydon Advertiser says promotion hopefuls Derby County are preparing a £3.5m offer for the 31-year-old instead.
Murray is much-loved at Selhurst Park but he was not guaranteed first team football in the Premier League and asked for a move back to the Championship,
He has, so far, scored five goals in 11 appearances for Reading.
Royals director of football Nick Hammond said: "We have an option to buy him at the end of the loan period for a certain price."
