Departing Nancy defender Sane: I turned down Premier League for Hannover

Salif Sane has revealed that he turned down interest from Premier League clubs to join Hannover this summer.

The 22-year old French-born Senegalese defender will leave French club Nancy for the Bundesliga on July 1 and says he is heading to Germany because Hannover wanted him more than the curious clubs in England.

"I am delighted to put pen on paper with Hannover, they showed me they are interested in me and I am very happy to sign for four years here," he said.

"There were teams in the Premier League interested in me but they were not willing to move as fast as them, so for me it was easy to make the choice to come to Germany."
