Departing Liverpool starlet Ethan Ennis has announced he's signing for Manchester United.

The Reds offered him a scholarship contract earlier this summer, but it was rejected.

Ennis was then free to join whichever club he wished and also received interest from United's Premier League rivals Chelsea, reports the Liverpool Echo.

However, United have won the race to sign the 16-year-old, who confirmed the transfer by posting photographs of himself at Old Trafford on Instagram.

The caption read: "I am delighted to announce that I have signed for Manchester United. Grateful for this opportunity, can't wait to get started."
