Denmark coach Age Hareide is backing Martin Braithwaite for a positive impact at Barcelona.

The former Leganes striker has joined Barca in an €18m deal as an emergency replacement for the injured Ousmane Dembele.

Hareide said, "I think Barcelona picked him up to use him. Otherwise it would not really make sense.

"In addition, Martin is a player who is good at taking up these challenges, and as I see it, he has some qualities Barcelona can use right now.

"His pace and ability to seek the underlying space may well be needed."
