Anton Walkes admitted it has been a fairly action-packed week for him personally.
The 19-year-old made his Tottenham Hotspur debut in Wednesday night's 5-0 win over Gillingham in the third round of the EFL Cup at White Hart Lane, just 48 hours after suffering a heavy defeat.
Walkes was part of Ugo Ehiogu's Spurs U23 side which lost 6-2 to Liverpool on Monday night but quickly forgot that experience by being called up to the Spurs first-team by Mauricio Pochettino.
"It's a pleasure to get out there and get some minutes underneath my belt," Walkes, who replaced Ben Davies in the 80th minute, told Spurs TV.
"It's been tough this season so far but I've just got to keep on pushing and pushing.
"Getting experience today and playing with such a great team, seeing fellow teammates get on as well and some even starting, it's unbelievable.
He added: "It's been a crazy week.
"It was hard to pick myself up in the morning to go again on Tuesday but once I got the news I was going to be in the squad, I quickly got out of that, and then I was ready.
"I got the opportunity and the week's turned around."
