De Zerbi pleased with Brighton kids for Liverpool draw: But we must defend better

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi was pleased with his young players for their 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

However, he was left dissatisfied with the way they conceded their goals.

He said: “It's a good point. I think in the 90 minutes we played better than Liverpool, especially in the first half.

“We were losing 1-2 in the first half, we conceded two goals in a very bad way. We didn't understand how we were losing in that moment.

“In general, I think it was a good game, both teams played well. “

On Mohamed Salah's double, he said: “This moment I'm sorry, we are conceding too many goals in a bad way.

"We are working a lot, but maybe it's not enough, but maybe in football it just so happens we concede too many goals, but I think we don't deserve to concede so many goals."

De Zerbi continued: “Today, I'm tired but I'm happy because we played with a lot of young players.

"I have to say congratulations to my club, because they found two talents in Adingra and Baleba.

“We need to help the new players to come in and adapt quickly because we need more players to play this since, as this season is more tough than last.

"The performances of Adingra and Baleba are important for us. Igor too."

“It was a great performance from Baleba, Adingra and Igor. He's very young. I think we need the characteristics of Baleba and he's a great replacement for Moises Caicedo.
