De Mos: Dutch school failed De Boer, Koeman

Former Dutch coach Aad de Mos feels the current generation are limiting themselves in their development phase.

De Mos isn't surprised seeing Frank de Boer lose his job at Crystal Palace and Ronald Koeman with Everton.

He wrote for HLN: "In the Netherlands, trainers are created. If they learn their lessons, they get their diploma from the KNVB. A bit like driving a license, I never learned from that. My statement is: As a trainer you are born.

"It's a big handicap that they do not have a helicopter view anymore," continues the former trainer of Ajax and PSV. "In modern football it has changed a lot, but De Boer struggled because he knows only the Ajax method. Many Dutch coaches have a large lack of flexibility and are not creative."
