Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic hailed his players after their 2-1 defeat of Inter Milan.
Mihajlovic took in the game from hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for leukaemia, having already beaten the illness in 2019 with a bone marrow transplant.
The coach called in after this evening's 2-1 victory.
“He congratulated the squad and confessed how much he really cared about this result," assistant coach Emilio De Leo told Sky Italia.
“We didn't like some of the speculation about us and how Bologna would approach this game, so the coach absolutely will not allow for any lack of professionalism. Nobody should dare put that up for debate.
“Before the game, we told each other that we wanted to make our coach happy and fight for him. He was very proud, pleased and moved at the performance from his lads."
