Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has revisited his move from Ajax.

De Jong signed for Barca in February 2019 before joining the Catalans last summer.

The midfielder said, "He (president Josep Maria Bartomeu) had contacted my agent to tell him that he would like to come to the Netherlands to have a discussion with us.

"He was very convincing that I had to choose Barcelona no matter what. It was a very nice move on his part. We talked about the other teams of course and Pep Guardiola.

"He assured me that he was an extraordinary coach, told me only good things about him and Manchester City, but that my choice should be Barça."
