David de Gea has left the door ajar to penning new terms with Manchester United.
It has been previously reported that Spain's No.1 wants a deal that makes him one of the club's top earners , with a salary similar to the one being paid to Alexis Sanchez.
But Sky Sports says the goalkeeper is also seeking assurances that the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will compete for major trophies
De Gea has made 362 appearances for United since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has established himself as one of the world's best goalkeepers
In addition to winning a Premier League title with the club in 2013, he has also helped the Red Devils to triumphs in both the FA Cup and Europa League.
