Manchester United shot stopper David De Gea was full of praise for Raphael Varane after his side's 1-0 win over Wolves in the Premier League.
United had to dig deep to secure all three points at Molineux, considering the intensity and attacking impetus that Wolves showed for most of the game.
However, a flash of brilliance from Mason Greenwood settled the contest, with De Gea pulling off several good saves to keep United in the game.
Afterward, he reserved praise for debutant Varane, who got his first start since signing from Real Madrid in the summer.
"He was very good, we kept a clean sheet so it's always very good to start with a clean sheet," the Spaniard told the club's website.
"He's a great lad, I think he's good for the group.
"Very experienced centre back.
"Many, many games and I think he showed today he's calm with the ball, he's good in the air, he's very quick, so a great defender – a great signing for us."
