Kevin de Bruyne has reaffirmed his support for former Manchester City teammate Vincent Kompany as Anderlecht player-manager.
De Bruyne admits he's missed the influence of his former captain this season.
“I really hope that he can build a career as great as a player-manager at Anderlecht like he did at City. His influence within the club here was enormous. A lot bigger than the fans saw and thought," said the midfielder.
"He kept everyone sharp. Always the same mantra: 'football is not about individuals, but is a team sport'.
"Even when he was hurt, he played his role. Although of course it was great that in his last months at City he was fit and played a lot. The way he said goodbye to the club was fantastic. I miss his presence here enormously."
