Former Barcelona midfielder Ronald de Boer is backing their move for Lyon striker Memphis Depay.

Depay is being linked with a January switch to Barca.

"He is almost at 100 percent [after his injury]," De Boer said of Depay when talking to Radio MARCA.

"With its strength and technique, he can surprise you at any time. If his head is right, he could be a good player for Barcelona.

"He is more like [Luis] Suarez than [Antoine] Griezmann, but he is technically better as a team player."
