New DC United signing Wayne Rooney snapped back at a reporter claiming he'd resent England winning the World Cup.
Footage has emerged of the former Everton and Manchester United captain being asked about his feelings towards his country's success without him.
In the clip, an ITV News reporter asks: “How does it feel to watch England in the World Cup as a spectator and not a player?
“Would you be a bit gutted to miss it if we win?"
But the 32-year-old, who represented the Three Lions at three World Cups, did not accept the question.
The DC United striker replied: “No, I'd be delighted if we win.
“And I think that question is unfair, to be honest.
“I think you're asking me if I'd be gutted if England win a World Cup.
“I'm from England, I'm an England fan and I want England to win, so I don't think the question is a good one."
