Everton defender Ashley Williams is a target for MLS.

The Sun says DC United want to take Wales captain Ashley Williams to the United States.

The Eastern Conference leaders - and MLS rivals New York City - have joined the chase to capture the Everton defender.

Williams, 34, is out of contract this summer and has been on loan at Stoke but will leave Goodison Park when his current deal expires.

As well as the USA duo, relegated Premier League outfit Huddersfield and Championship play-off contenders Aston Villa have also declared an interest.
