DC United have acquired the services of MLS veteran Carlos Ruiz via the competition's allocation process.

The 33-year old Guatemalan forward joins his fifth MLS club after successful spells with LA Galaxy and FC Dallas as well as time spent with Toronto FC and Philadelphia Union.

Ruiz, who made over 100 appearances for Guatemala, has also played for the likes of Municipal, Olimpia, Puebla and Veracruz throughout his career.
