MLS club DC United and USL PRO outfit Richmond Kickers have extended their affiliation.
The Washington and Virginia clubs will continue the partnership through 2014 after beginning a relationship in January last year.
"Last year's partnership with Richmond was mutually beneficial and we are very pleased to be working together again in 2014," said DC general manager Dave Kasper.
"Our younger players who went on loan last season gained valuable experience that can only be realized by playing in professional games. We have had a long-standing relationship with the Kickers and we look forward to making this another win-win year."
In 2013, six DC players featured for the Kickers as they took out the regular season title by finishing top of the USL PRO table. The MLS players who dropped down to their third tier were Andrew Dykstra (USL PRO Goalkeeper of the Year), Taylor Kemp, Collin Martin, Michael Seaton, Conor Shanosky and Casey Townsend.
