Davy Propper says Brighton must improve their intensity if they want to avoid a second-straight defeat against Tottenham on Boxing Day.

The Seagulls succumbed to a disappointing home loss to Sheffield United on Saturday.

He said: "They were playing with a lot of energy and were pushing forward quite hard in the game. I thought we prepared for it well, but we didn't have the same speed or mentality as them.

"In the past we have shown what we can do, and we need to do that again, as we won't go very far if we play how we did on Saturday.

"With the system they play and the energy they have, it's a little bit different to ours. But in every game you need to have a go.

"Now all our focus is on the Tottenham game, and it will be good to have another game again so quickly after this one."
