Davis accuses former club Portsmouth of being unappreciative

New Bolton signing Sean Davis has said that Portsmouth's dithering over the offer of a new contract led to him leave Pompey. "A deal could have been sorted out in January. Tony Adams offered me a deal, but they kept mucking me about over little things and couldn't agree on anything," Davis told Sky Sports News.

"The contract ran out and I didn't hear anything, so I thought I'd go somewhere I'd be appreciated.

"When I say appreciated I don't mean anything against the (Portsmouth) fans, they were great to me, always behind me, the atmosphere was great and they were one of the special things there.

"But upstairs I didn't feel appreciated enough. The contract could have been sorted months ago."
