Davinson Sanchez says he's excited to be part of Tottenham and their future.

The defender is now one of the most coveted defenders in Europe but is excited by the future beckoning his north London employers.

The 22-year-old told the Mirror: “There are many things around me here in Tottenham that are keeping me happy – the rest of the guys, the kit man, everything. When you are somewhere you think you might be happy, you cling onto it. People outside the game and outside the club can do nothing about it.

“In South America, I watched a lot of Premier League football and it was always the best league. The team is improving and there are many things happening in Tottenham."

Sanchez believes the character shown by the team despite their stadium troubles, injuries and continual setbacks suggest it would be wrong to write them off next weekend.

“It is difficult when there are a lot of things happening," he said. “But there is a feeling about this team. We never give up and we know a lot can happen in football. You have to do everything to make the thing that you want happens."
