Davies could enter player-coach role with Preston

Kevin Davies is expected to receive a playing-coach role at promoted Preston North End after he expressed a desire to continue playing with the Lilywhites next season.

"We are in discussions with Kevin Davies about a role at the football club in terms of playing and possibly a coaching capacity," said Preston boss Simon Grayson.

Former England international Davies, 38, made 33 League One appearances this season but was used mainly as a substitute behind first-choice pair of Joe Garner and Jermaine Beckford.
