Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna says his side cannot use the absence of David Silva as the reason behind their loss against West Ham United.
Silva was unavailable for the clash against West Ham on Saturday after pulling out due to a calf injury during the pre-game warm up and the Spaniard's absence was most certainly felt by the Citizens as they went on to suffer a 2-1 defeat.
It was clear to see that City were missing the cutting edge which Silva provides in attack but Sagna has stated that his side will not use that as an excuse.
Sagna said: "David is a quality player, one of our big players, but we have a deep squad, and it is not an excuse at all.
"It didn't affect the way we wanted to play, even though David can be decisive. Jesus did well, warming up at last minute and was active throughout the game."
