Manchester United shot stopper David De Gea admits the entire team is experiencing difficult times at present.
The Red Devils are reeling from the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but managed to keep their season alive with a 2-0 Champions League group stage win over Villarreal away from home on Tuesday.
United are now through to the knockout rounds of the competition, while they take on Chelsea in the Premier League at the weekend.
"It's been very difficult, to be honest," De Gea said post-game to MUTV.
"Last week, especially the last two or three days, have been tough. But that probably makes the team stronger.
"I think we will take confidence from today and then it's not just today. We need to show again on Sunday when we play a massive game again [v Chelsea], so let's see if we can keep winning games."
"Yeah, for sure," he added on the fans enjoying themselves in Spain.
"Champions League nights for the fans are very special. The away fans are always unbelievable. I'm very happy for them also, they deserve a result today and, for sure, they enjoyed it."
