Darmian eyeing strong Euro2016 with Italy

Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has fully recovered from his ankle injury and is looking to a strong Euro2016 with Italy.

The 26-year-old, who recently won the FA Cup with his club, is part of a provisional 30-man squad named by Azzurri boss Antonio Conte on Monday and is now determined to force his way into the final 23 for the UEFA tournament in France which kicks off on June 10.

He told manutd.com: "After my ankle injury, I feel good now. I have to wait for the final list of the Italian coach but yes, of course, I want to go to the Euros.

"It is a big appointment for a player. It is a big chance to win another trophy.

"It will not be easy because I think our group is a very hard group [Belgium, Republic of Ireland and Sweden]. But we'll try to do our best in it and look forward to it."
