Danilo: Man City players have discussed Champions League push

Manchester City fullback Danilo admits the players know the club are expecting Champions League glory.

The former Real Madrid man has spent the chunk of his time in Manchester on the bench but has responded well when called on at critical times this season.

“The Champions League is a very interesting trophy to us and we have had discussions about that - and we are going to try to surprise the manager with it sooner or later," he told the Mirror.

“We all know it's not an easy competition to win but we have the quality and we can assure that we will give off our best."

Having played in La Liga and now the Premier League, Danilo is in no doubt that in England every team, regardless of where they stand in the table, go out to win the games.

“The English game is more physical and if I am allowed to say is more tactical - and by that I mean the teams try to win the games so it's quite different to the Spanish game with that respect but they two of the best leagues in the world for me."
