Daniel James is urging his Manchester United teammates to utilise his pace.
James, on his debut, tore apart Perth Glory's shaky defence with a series of rapid runs on the shoulder of the last man and the A-League side could not live with him.
The Wales winger shone in the 2-0 win.
"As soon as I came in I told the full backs my strengths and how I like to play," James told MUTV after the match. "Youngy [Ashley Young] cut inside a lot and was playing me in quite a lot.
"That's important over the next few weeks to get that link up over the next few weeks to get the best out of them and the best out of me.
"There were quite a few times I got in there, that's what we want to do, we want to try and get in behind the opposition not just play in front and that's what the gaffer has speaking to me a lot about doing that. And it's important for me to do it for him."
