Daniel Alves committed to Sevilla

Alves made no secret of his desire to further his career away from the Andalusian club this summer, and both Real Madrid and Chelsea were closely linked with moves for the highly-rated Brazilian full-back.

"I had the intention of leaving because I had a great opportunity to set up the rest of my life, which is my priority. I have people I have to take care of," said Alves, who insists he has no problem with Sevilla.

"I and my family are very happy in Sevilla, where I have shown my professionalism during four and a half years here.

"I have never said that I would disappointed if I remained at Sevilla, I know that here there are many people who appreciate me and I am relaxed.

"I am going to try and continue showing the professional attitude which I have done, although it will be difficult because I have lost a unique opportunity."

Regarding the criticism he has received over the recent events, the former Bahia defender insists he will not let that affect him.

"It has been quite difficult, not only for me, but also for my family," he said.

"For four and a half years I have been a total professional and nobody likes to hear these things, but it has been a minority and I will not give it any importance."
