Dani Carvajal has defended Real Madrid after their double Barcelona defeat this past week.
The Blaugrana moved clear in the all-time Clasico wins list thanks to their 3-0 success in the Copa del Rey and a 1-0 victory in LaLiga Santander.
However, Real Madrid did perform well in both games and the defender reflected on the missed opportunities.
"I think that they were two closely contested matches," he said after Saturday's loss.
"In the Copa del Rey I think the result was flattering and today was a game in which there were chances for both sides.
"Now the league is far away for us and it hurts us because this was an opportunity to get back in the fight.
"You should never lose three games at home in your own stadium but we are thankful for the fans.
"I think football has been a bit unfair to us.
"We shouldn't regret things, but we should look forward.
"You have to score goals.
"We were missing a bit of luck, but we have to work harder to score.
"This has probably been one of the hardest weeks since I've been here, but we have to continue."
