Dan Burn in line for Brighton debut

Brighton signing Dan Burn is set to make his debut this weekend against FA Cup opponents Bournemouth.

The 6ft 7in Burn went straight back to Wigan on loan when Albion bought him for £3 million in August to recover from a broken foot bone and play matches for them in the Championship.

He made his 14th and final appearance for Wigan since October in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Swansea.

Boss Chris Hughton said: "He's officially back with us. He's been our player since the summer but we sent him back there on loan.

"He very much comes into the frame and we look forward to including him.

"The plus side is he's up to speed, he's fit and been playing games. That makes him available.

"He won't be in the squad for West Ham because it was just his first day but he'll be available after that.

"The reason why he came here is because of the form he showed at Wigan. He picked up an injury early in the season and missed a series of games but he's got himself fit now.

"He's a player who has been in good enough form at Wigan for us to purchase him. He's been at Fulham too so he's a player of experience, and a very good size for a centre-half. It will be up to him. He's here for a challenge. He'll give us valuable competition."
