Dan Bentley: Joe Hart Man City situation is ‘nonsense’

Joe Hart will return to England a much better goalkeeper next season.

That is the opinion of Brentford keeper Dan Bentley who has described Hart's situation at Manchester City as 'nonsense'.

Bentley believes the England international is only improving while on loan at Torino and will be back in the Premier League as an even more accomplished player in 2017/18.

"I thought the whole scenario was nonsense," he told The Sun.

"Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world and you have to respect his decision, which Joe did.

"But you cannot tell me that Joe Hart can't use his feet, he said it himself he could adapt his game to play the way that Pep wants.

"If you ask him to hit somebody from the six yard box to the corner of his half or pass it into midfield I'm sure nine times out of 10 he could do it.

"I still rank him very highly. As a goalkeeper he's got undoubted ability and just because he was surplus to requirements at Manchester City doesn't mean he won't go and do a fantastic job somewhere else.

"I think he'll come back stronger from his experiences at Torino and be a better goalkeeper.

"It shows everything you need to know about him as a person and a pro, he could have crumbled under the pressure, or again after Euro2016.

"But he's gone on and done what I always believed he would – prove people wrong and he'll always continue to do so."
