United confirmed the appointment of Ten Hag as their next permanent manager last month after agreeing a £1.7million deal to release him from his Ajax contract. The 52-year-old has signed a three-year deal at Old Trafford with the option of a further 12 months.
Dalot believes the preseason tour will be the perfect chance for the squad to turn over a new leaf as they begin work with their new coach.
"Just because there's a tour it's a good opportunity for everyone," he told United's in-house media. "A new start, a new chapter, a new era.
"So I think everyone will be excited, I'm sure that the manager will be excited to work with us as well. So we need to build everyone as a team, as a group, as a club, and hopefully next season we can be solid and start the season well with a very good coach."
Dalot has also outlined his personal target of adapting to Ten Hag's demands for players in the full-back position as quickly as possible once the new boss arrives.
"I think the full-back position has been growing a lot in terms of the game plan and inside of the game," the Portuguese added. "For me, it's been a very good journey to have different coaches, different ideas, so I can adapt in every situation.
"I'm sure that with the new manager I'll try to adapt quick and show him that I can help this team, this club, and I think that's the mentality that everyone will have. At the end of the day we all want to play but the first thing is the team."
