Dalian Yifang striker Salomon Rondon has opened the door to a Newcastle United return.

The popular number nine impressed in his loan spell from West Brom last season, netting 12 goals and striking up an impressive partnership with Miguel Almiron and Ayoze Perez.

The former Malaga forward insists his "present" remains with Dalian - but has again refused to rule out a return to United and the Premier League.

Rondon told TNT Sports: “There was a lot of talk about what happened at Newcastle with the purchase of the Saudi group.

“There are a lot of rumours about the interest, but you have to wait. My present at the moment is in China."
