Liverpool and Celtic legend Kenny Dalglish believes Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is not leaving for a relegation-threatened Premier League team.

The Australian manager has been extremely impressive in the Scottish Premiership with the Hoops.

Given they won the title in his first season and may win it again this term, Postecoglou is constantly linked with teams in the lower half of the Premier League table.

"There's no background to it," Hoops legend Dalglish stated, per the Evening Standard, regarding Postecoglou to Crystal Palace.

"He's done brilliantly at Celtic and it's attracted people from down south to say 'come down here'.

“But are you trying to say Celtic's not as big an adventure as some of the clubs that were allegedly interested in him?

"Why would he go down to the Premier League and get relegated or to a team threatened by relegation? He'd rather be at Celtic playing to win trophies."
