Dalglish to present Liverpool players with Premier League winner medals

Sir Kenny Dalglish will present Liverpool's players with their Premier League winner's medals next week.

The Daily Express says Dalglish will hand out the medals to Liverpool's title-winning squad next week after the club received permission from the Premier League for the iconic Scot to be involved in the celebrations.

The Reds legend, who has a stand named after him at Anfield and is dubbed 'King Kenny' among the club's fanbase, will be allowed to play a special role in the post-match ceremony after Liverpool take on Chelsea in their final home game of the season next Wednesday.

Dalglish, who spent over two decades at Liverpool as a player and a manager, has been in attendance at several of their Premier League matches since the league restarted amid the coronavirus pandemic in June.

And with the Merseyside giants keen to make sure their title party is not dampened too much by the fact no fans will be present in the stadium to watch the players lift the trophy aloft, Dalglish will be involved.

Liverpool asked the league for the 69-year-old, who won nine titles as a player and manager, to hand out the medals to the squad prior to captain Jordan Henderson receiving the trophy.
