Prospective Bordeaux owner Joe DaGrosa admits he'd like to bring Barcelona star Leo Messi to France.

DaGrosa, chairman of investment fund GACP, is expected to oversee the takeover of Bordeaux in the coming days.

"Messi is probably the player I would dream of," he said.

"Our goal is not to recruit big names, but to look at what we need on the ground. If an expensive player meets the criteria, which the coach and the sports director consider appropriate, we are ready to invest."
