The father of Leicester City signing Timothy Castagne admits a move to Tottenham was also an option.
The Foxes splashed £21.5million on Atalanta's Belgium full-back Castagne last week after losing Ben Chilwell to Chelsea for £50m.
Pierre Castagne revealed Spurs spoke to his son but needed AC Milan target Serge Aurier to leave.
He said: "He (Timothy) conducted a video conference with Jose Mourinho but Tottenham had to sell Serge Aurier first.
"With a little more money, they could have made an offer like Leicester."
