Dad admits Man City star Haaland struggling to make Liverpool clash

Alfie Haaland says son Erling is touch and go for Manchester City's game against Liverpool after the international break.

The 22-year-old pulled out of the Norway squad due to take on Spain and Georgia over the next few days after picking up a groin injury during the FA Cup win over Burnley.

City, who trail Premier League leaders Arsenal by five points, have little more margin for error during the run-in.

"You can't just go two weeks without training and then jump right into a fight," said Haaland's father to TV2 Sport.

“There must be a progression there. It is about how he responds to treatment in the next few days."
