Curtis: New Swansea boss Guidolin would be pleasantly surprised by Watford triumph

Swansea City caretaker coach Alan Curtis believes that his side's performance in the 1-0 win over Watford would have please newly-appointed head coach Francesco Guidolin.

Italian tactician Guidolin was present in the stands at the Liberty Stadium to see the Welsh outfit move out of the drop zone thanks to a 27th-minute header from captain Ashley Williams.

Former Udinese boss Guidolin will take charge of the Swans alongside Curtis this week and the current interim boss was feeling positive about the future.

"I think he would be more than pleasantly surprised with what he saw," Curtis told Sky Sports.

"He has bags of experience in Italy and he's probably someone we need, someone who is an experienced leader.

"As a management team we have done as well as we could, we put in some good performances but unfortunately the results haven't been there. If he can get the performances and results that's what we are looking for."
