Curtis Davies: Hull players want Phelan in charge

Hull City defender Curtis Davies says the players are keen for Mike Phelan to be confirmed fulltime manager.

The Sun says Phelan has now clinched the full-time position after guiding Hull to two victories from their opening three Premier League matches.

Davies said: “The continuity with Mike has been a big thing.

“He obviously takes the training, he has been our first-team coach for a year-and-a-half now, and the fact that he's continued with that, he has kept his style going and also he has brought a relaxed mentality to us.

“The players would endorse his appointment 100 per cent, because he has been relaxed with us, the way we have played we've tried to be positive, we have tried to go into games to try and win."
