Gold coast United's signing, Jason Culina, says he is relishing the added pressure that comes with being the club's marquee player.
Currently finishing the season off with Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, Culina is expecting a different kind of pressure once he arrives in Australia but will not shy away from his new responsibilities.
"I've been under pressure for 10 years in Holland with Ajax, FC Twente and PSV, it's normal to me and I know I'll be expected to provide something a little bit different," he said.
"I knew that would be the case when I signed. If you can't handle the pressure you are better off not playing at all.
"I'm sure the pressures I've experienced in Holland will probably be greater than anything I'll face in Australia.
"You go into every game under scrutiny. You have to play well or you're out of the team and I'm sure that with me being the marquee player and the captain I'll be closely watched and I welcome that.
"If I wasn't ready for it, I wouldn't have come back."
