Jason Culina netted on his Gold Coast United debut as the new A-League club defeated Singapore U23s 4-0.

The club's marquee signing came off the bench with 20 minutes remaining and managed to smash a 30-metre shot into the back of the net two minutes from time.

Defender Michael Thwaite and former Hartlepool striker Joel Porter also got in on the act as well as an early own goal.

The match was supposed to be staged on Tuesday but the club's private jet needed maintenance and the game had to be postponed until yesterday.
